Ingredients

Steak

  • 6 oz your favorite steak (NY strip, ribeye or sirloin)
  • kosher salt and pepper

Crostini

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 baguette cut into 1/2-inch slices

Topping

  • 6 oz soft goat cheese
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup sliced fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • balsamic glaze for topping

Instructions

  • Season steak with salt and pepper. Cook steak in a cast iron pan or on grill until desired degree of doneness, about 4 to 5 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Remove from heat and let steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing into thin slices.
  • Meanwhile, brush baguette slices with olive oil and place under broiler until browned.
  • In a small bowl, mix goat cheese, horseradish, salt, pepper and garlic until well combined.
  • Spread some goat cheese mixture onto crostini, top with sliced basil leaves and a slice of bacon and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
