Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Sparkle bulk sausage
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 5 leaves fresh basil cut in half
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano divided
  • 1 Tbsp. hot Hungarian paprika
  • 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 15 oz. can navy, cannellini or great northern beans rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 lb. ditalini pasta
  • Romano cheese for serving

Instructions

  • Brown and chop sausage in a saucepan until cooked through. Add olive oil, garlic, half of basil and 1/4 teaspoon oregano. Let cook until garlic starts to brown and then sprinkle in paprika. Let cook for 5 to 10 seconds or until it starts to change color. Do not over cook paprika; it will burn quickly. Add tomato sauce and remaining herbs and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile cook pasta according to package directions, reserving 1/4 to 1/2 cup water in pan. Add beans to tomato sauce. Add sauce to pasta and mix together. Transfer into a serving dish and sprinkle with cheese.
