Holiday Toffee

Here at Sparkle, we are preparing you for the Christmas season! This is a great and easy recipe to use for cookie platters at your next holiday party or gifts for your neighbors and teachers. It only takes a few ingredients and a little bit of time to make this delicious toffee recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 sticks butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/8 cups smashed almonds divided
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, combine butter and sugar high heat (or medium-high for gas stoves). Stir butter and sugar until it comes to a boil. Attach a candy thermometer to the side of the pan and watch closely.Continue stirring until the temperature reaches 310ยบ, then immediately remove from heat.
  • Mix 1 cup smashed almonds into saucepan until thoroughly combined. Pour into an ungreased cookie sheet. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips over the top. Let rest until chocolate chips are melted enough to spread overtop. Dust with 1/8 cup smashed/chopped almonds.
  • Once the chocolate has cooled and hardened, break apart with a tip of a knife to the desired size.
