Spicy Shrimp Dip

Spicy Shrimp Dip

Need a different dip recipe for your football gatherings? This spicy shrimp dip is full of cheesy goodness.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1 red pepper, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated, divided
  • 3/4 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, grated, divided
  • Sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375º.
  2. Mix pepper, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne together and set aside. Reserve 1 teaspoon for the vegetables. Roughly chop shrimp and season with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and seasoning; mix well and set aside.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add jalapeno, celery, onion, shallot and red pepper, sauté for 5 minutes. Season with remaining seasoning; mix well. Add garlic and cook or 1 minute more. Add shrimp and cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and place mixture in a large bowl.
  4. Add cream cheese, mayonnaise and half of both cheeses to shrimp mixture and stir well. Place into a casserole dish, top with remaining cheese and bake for 20 minutes. Serve with baguette slices.
