No-Bake Granola Bars

No-Bake Granola Bars

For a simple and healthy snack, make No-Bake Granola Bars. Add whichever fruits and nuts you prefer!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • dried fruit, chocolate chips, coconut, nuts or whatever extras you’d like

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix crispy rice cereal and oats together.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine honey, butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar.Bring to a boil over medium-high heat then bring the temperature down to low, and simmer till sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Pour in vanilla and any extra ingredients you choose; stir.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over dry ingredients. Stir until all ingredients are moistened. Press into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish lined with parchment paper, about 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick. When cooled, cut into bars and store in an airtight container.
