Italian Sausage and Noodles

Italian Sausage and Noodles

This recipe calls for Sparkle Market’s new pasta sauce!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1 onion, quartered and sliced thinly
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 orange bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 (24 oz.) jar Sparkle Brilliante traditional sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 8 oz. Pappardelle noodles, uncooked
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil to a large pot over medium-high heat. Add sausage, allowing it to brown. Once browned, remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  2. Add onion and cook for about 5 minutes. Stir in salt, Italian seasoning and pepper. Add bell peppers and sauté for about 2 minutes, until tender. Add garlic and wine. Allow wine to cook until almost completely reduced. Add in sauce and sausage. Stir until well combined; let simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add parsley and basil.
  3. Prepare noodles according to package directions. Drain and combine with sauce mixture. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
