Simple Pepper Steak
Need to throw together a quick dinner? Make Simple Pepper Steak, served over rice!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. sirloin steak, cut into strips
- 5 Tbsp. soy sauce, divided
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper, divided
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 red pepper, chop to 1-inch pieces
- 1 green pepper, chop to 1-inch pieces
- 1 onion, chop to 1-inch pieces
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 cup cold water
- Rice, for serving
Instructions
- Season steak with 3 tablespoons soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Add steak to a large skillet over high heat and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add oil to the same skillet and reduce heat to
- medium-high. Add peppers and onion and cook for
- to 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- In a medium bowl, combine gravy mix, ginger, water, remaining 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Add sauce to skillet and cook until thickened and peppers are tender. Serve over rice.
