BLT Quesadilla

By now, you’ve probably seen some of the viral TikTok recipes floating around. Well, Megan is putting them to the test to see if they’re worth all the hype. We’re starting the popular “quesadilla hack.” You can switch up the fillings any way you want but we’re trying a BLT version. Spoiler: this way of making quesadillas is awesome, and we’re not sure we’ll ever make them the old way again!

The ingredients needed to make our BLT Quesadillas are 1 large tortilla, 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 2 leaves of lettuce, 2 slices of tomato, 3 slices of cooked bacon and 1 slice of mozzarella or provolone cheese.

First, place your tortilla on a cutting board and cut a slit starting from the middle of the tortilla to the edge. Do not go past the center of the tortilla though, as you won’t be able to fold it up. Next, place your quesadilla fillings in all four quadrants of your tortilla. Put cold ingredients, such as dressing and veggies, in the bottom right and top right quadrants. Add meet and cheese to the bottom left and top left quadrants so they can get hot and melt everything together while cooking.

Now that all of the ingredients are placed on your tortilla, fold the bottom left quadrant UP onto the top left quadrant, fold the top left OVER to the right onto the top right quadrant, then fold the top right DOWN onto the bottom right quadrant.

Now we’re ready to start cooking! Spread butter or nonstick cooking spray on the outside of the tortilla. Next, place it into a heated panini press or skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 large tortilla
  • 1-2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 leaves of lettuce
  • 2 slices tomato
  • 3 slices cooked bacon
  • 1 slice mozzarella or provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Place tortilla on a cutting board and cut a slit starting from the middle of the tortilla to the edge but not go past the center of the tortilla.
  • Place fillings in all 4 corners. Place cool things such as dressing and veggies in the bottom left and top left corners. Add meat and cheese to the top right and bottom right, so they can get hot and melt and hold everything together better.
  • Fold the bottom left corner UP onto the top left corner. Fold the top left OVER to the right onto the top right corner. Fold the top right DOWN onto the bottom right.
  • Spread butter or spray nonstick cooking spray on the outside of the tortilla before cooking it. Place the layered tortilla wrap into a heated panini press or skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.
