Cabbage and Noodles
This recipe for Cabbage and Noodles makes for a hearty weeknight dinner, complete with cabbage, egg noodles and kielbasa.
Ingredients
- 1(12 oz.) package egg noodles
- 1/2 lb. bacon, chopped
- 1 lb. kielbasa, sliced
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. butter, if needed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
- 3/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package directions.
- In a large pot, over medium-high heat, cook the bacon and kielbasa, stirring often, until bacon is cooked and kielbasa is browned on the edges, about 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
- Add onion, cabbage, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes; add chicken broth. Lower heat, cover and cook until cabbage starts to soften, adding butter if needed and stirring often, about 20 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more; add egg noodles, bacon and kielbasa and mix well.
