Homemade Sweet Potato Fries
For a healthier alternative to regular french fries, try this recipe for sweet potato fries. They’re extra flavorful and served with a tangy mayo sauce.
Ingredients
- 3 large sweet potatoes
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 3 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
- 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°.
- While it preheats, place two baking sheets in the oven for about 10 minutes. Peel potatoes and slice into 1/4 to 1/2-inch strips. In a bowl, combine oil, sugar, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin and oregano. Add potatoes and toss to coat.
- Remove hot baking sheets from the oven. Divide potatoes evenly among the two sheets, making sure they are not touching. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Meanwhile combine barbecue sauce, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Serve with fries.
