Bagel and Cream Cheese Strata
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 5 cups cubed bagels
- 8 oz. crumbled smoked salmon
- 2 Tbsp. chopped dill
- 8 oz. cream cheese, cut into half-inch cubes
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°.
- In a large saute pan, heat butter over medium-high heat until it is foaming. Add red onion and cook until softened and starting to brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Layer the cubed bagels, salmon, onions, cream cheese and dill in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl whisk together eggs, half and half, salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the bagels. Cover and let sit for 45 minutes.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the eggs are set. Allow to cool for about 10 to 15 minutes before cutting. Serve warm or at room temperature.
