Kids Snack Mix
Need a packable lunch snack? It’s easy to make and perfect for the kids lunches all week.
Ingredients
- 1 (10.5 oz.) bag corn chips
- 2 cups rice cereal
- 2 cups pretzel twists
- 1 1/2 cups walnuts or peanuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup of mini M&M’s
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- In a large bowl combine corn chips, rice cereal, pretzels, nuts and raisins. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan melt sugar, butter and corn syrup over medium heat. Let mixture come to a boil and then boil for 4 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and pour over corn chip mixture. Stir to coat. Transfer mixture to a large roasting pan and bake for 8 minutes. Stir mixture and bake for an additional 8 minutes.
- Transfer mixture to wax paper to cool. When cooled, break into small chunks and sprinkle in M&M’s. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
