Whiskey Honey Glazed Ribs
Whiskey Honey Glazed Ribs make a delicious main dish for upcoming summer cookouts. Double this recipe for larger parties!
Ingredients
- 3 rack baby back ribs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce, divided
- 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. whiskey
- 1/2 cup honey, divided
- 2 Tbsp. finely grated fresh ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. freshly ground white pepper
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp. hot water
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
Instructions
- Arrange rib racks in a large glass or ceramic baking dish, overlapping them slightly. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, whiskey, 1/4 cup honey, ginger, pepper, sesame oil, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour marinade over ribs and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.
- In a small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup honey and hot water. In a medium bowl, combine lime juice, remaining ¼ cup soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, cilantro and sugar; stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Preheat oven to 300º.
- Arrange ribs on a baking sheet covered with foil, meaty side up. Roast for about 2 hours, until tender. Baste ribs with honey mixture during last 15 minutes of cooking. Remove from oven and baste again with honey mixture. Preheat a grill. Grill ribs over moderately high heat for 4 minutes, basting with Worcestershire sauce. Transfer racks to a cutting board and cut into individual ribs. Serve with remaining Worcestershire sauce.
