Cheesy Chicken Parm Burger

Love chicken parmesan? We are adding a twist to the traditional recipe, try Cheesy Chicken Parm Burgers! Each burger is filled with cheese and topped with marinara sauce and fresh basil.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 slices fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Marinara sauce and fresh basil for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine bread crumbs, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese in a bowl. In a separate large bowl, mix together chicken, remaining salt and Parmesan cheese, pepper, oregano, basil, parsley and garlic.
  2. Form chicken mixture into eight thin patties. Place a slice of Mozzarella cheese in the middle of four patties. Place the remaining chicken patties overtop and seal edges, making sure the cheese is fully covered.
  3. Cover each patty with the bread crumb mixture. Cook in a pan over medium-high heat for 4 minutes on each side. Plate on a bun with marinara sauce and fresh basil leaves.
