Spiced Coffee Cake
Or use up some of your warm Fall spices and make Spiced Coffee Cake.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 2 3/4 cups sugar, divided
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- In a large bowl, cream butter with 2 cups sugar, until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each one. Add vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients and sour cream alternately to the butter mixture.
- In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, pecans and remaining sugar.
- Spoon a third of the batter into a greased 10-inch tube pan and top with a third of the nut mixture. Repeat layers. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
