Blackened Fish Burger

For your next lunch or dinner, prepare a light and spicy Blackened Fish Burger. With a toasted bun, spicy fish fillet and flavorful sauce, this burger is packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • Rub
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • Burger
  • 2 (4-6 oz.) cod filets
  • 1 cup chopped purple cabbage
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 buns, toasted
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 Tbsp. Sriracha
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup arugula

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cayenne, pepper, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano and cumin.
  3. Pat fish dry and season with rub. Place fish on a baking sheet lined with foil. In a small bowl, toss cabbage with oil and salt. Add to same baking sheet and cook for about 6 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl combine mayo, Sriracha and garlic. Spread mixture on the bottoms buns. Add cabbage, then fish. Add arugula, top with bun and serve.
