Leftover Donut French Toast

Leftover Donut French Toast

Winter is well on its way and with it comes plenty of warm, comforting recipes. If you have leftover donuts that you don’t want to go to waste, use them to make Leftover Donut French Toast.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup half and half
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 8 stale donuts, sliced in half
  • Powdered sugar and maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine half and half, eggs, honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter. Quickly dip donut halves in custard mixture, then place in skillet. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes per side, until golden. Serve topped with powdered sugar and syrup.
