Sausage and Pepper Pizza Hoagies
Sausage and Pepper Pizza Hoagies have the best of both worlds! Stop in the meat department to pick up fresh Sparkle Italian Sausage.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. Sparkle Italian rope sausage, sliced 1/2-inch thick
- 1 green pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 6 slices Mozzarella cheese
- 6 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°.
- In a greased skillet over medium-high heat, sauté peppers and onion for 5 minutes or until tender. Remove and set aside.
- Add sausage slices and cook for 7 minutes. Add garlic, marinara and oregano to skillet, stir to combine. Lower heat and cook for 3 more minutes.
- Arrange rolls onto a baking sheet. Add pepper and onion mixture to each roll and top with sausage and sauce mixture. Place cheese overtop of rolls and place in oven. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and browning.
