Bourbon Bread Pudding
For your next dessert, make Bourbon Bread Pudding. It’s extra flavorful and filling.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 qt. milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins, soaked in bourbon
- Bourbon Sauce
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- In a large bowl, add bread cubes and milk. Press until all milk is absorbed. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, allspice and cinnamon. Pour over bread mixture. Add raisins and stir to combine. Add the bread mixture to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish coated with nonstick spray and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
- Bourbon Sauce
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Whisk in sugar and egg. Stir until thick. Add bourbon and serve with bread pudding.
