Ham & Cheese Breakfast Biscuits

Want to try something new for breakfast? Make Ham & Cheese Breakfast Biscuits. Served with maple butter, these make the perfect sweet and salty morning treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 Tbsp. butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded smoked Gouda cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 1/4 cups plain yogurt
  • Maple Butter
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and baking soda. Add butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in ham, Gouda, chives and yogurt until just combined.
  3. Drop dough onto a baking sheet, coated with
  4. non-stick cooking spray, into 12 equal mounds. Bake until golden brown, about 18 to 20 minutes. Remove biscuits from oven and serve with maple butter below.

  6. In a medium bowl, combine butter, syrup and salt.
