Chili Cheese Burgers
This Father’s Day, treat dad to Chili Cheese Burgers. Fair warning: You might need a napkin or two with these.
Ingredients
Chili Sauce
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 Tbsp. cumin
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
Burgers
- 1 1/4 lbs. ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 buns
Instructions
Chili Sauce
- In large skillet over medium heat, cook onion and ground beef. Drain fat and return to stove.
- Add salt, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, tomatoes and tomato sauce and stir until combined. Let simmer 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and keep warm.
Burgers
- Preheat grill to high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper. Form into four patties. Place on grill and cook to desired doneness. Top each burger with cheese, then transfer to buns. Spoon chili sauce mixture onto each burger and serve.
