Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp

Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp

Did you get an air fryer for Christmas and you’re not sure how to use it? We have you covered in the Sparkle Eats kitchen this week. Bang Bang Shrimp is a favorite for many, and by making it in the air fryer, we’re cutting out a lot of calories and time standing over a skillet frying it. And the bang bang sauce is so easy and can be used on chicken, seafood or sandwiches. You’ll love this one!

You only need four ingredients to make the shrimp: 1 pound of peeled and deveined jumbo raw shrimp, half of a cup of buttermilk, three fourths of a cup of cornstarch, and one cup of Panko bread crumbs. For the delicious bang bang sauce, another four ingredients: one third of a cup of mayonnaise, one teaspoon of Sriracha sauce, one fourth of a cup of sweet chili sauce, and one clove of minced garlic.

Start by preheating your air fryer to 400º for about 3 minutes. Coat shrimp in cornstarch, then dip it in buttermilk, and finally dip shrimp in bread crumbs. Transfer shrimp to air fryer that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray (making sure they don’t touch each other) and cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, flip shrimp over and brush or spray a little bit of oil on the top, then cook again for 3-5 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy.

While the shrimp is cooking, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha, chili sauce and garlic. Season with salt and pepper if needed. Drizzle sauce over cooked shrimp, or place in a bowl for dipping and you have a fan favorite recipe that is great as an appetizer for get-togethers or as a dinner if paired with a couple of sides!
