Slow Cooker Ribs
What’s better to give dad on Father’s day than ribs? These delicious ribs are done in the slow cooker and turn out so tender they fall off the bone. And what’s better is this recipe requires minimal work, which leaves more time for you to spend outside the kitchen.
You’ll need four pounds of pork baby back or country style ribs, one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, one cup of ketchup, one cup of your favorite barbecue sauce, one cup of chili sauce, half of a cup of packed brown sugar, four tablespoons of white vinegar, two teaspoons of dried oregano, one teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and a dash of hot sauce.
Preheat oven to 400º. Season ribs with salt and pepper to taste. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in the oven for 15 minutes. Turn over and brown another 15 minutes; drain fat.
In a medium bowl, mix together ketchup, barbecue sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour sauce over top and turn to coat. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until ribs are tender.
