Spicy Shrimp Dip
Need a different dip recipe for your football gatherings? This spicy shrimp dip is full of cheesy goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 3 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 shallot, diced
- 1 red pepper, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated, divided
- 3/4 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, grated, divided
- Sliced baguette for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375º.
- Mix pepper, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne together and set aside. Reserve 1 teaspoon for the vegetables. Roughly chop shrimp and season with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and seasoning; mix well and set aside.
- In a pan over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add jalapeno, celery, onion, shallot and red pepper, sauté for 5 minutes. Season with remaining seasoning; mix well. Add garlic and cook or 1 minute more. Add shrimp and cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and place mixture in a large bowl.
- Add cream cheese, mayonnaise and half of both cheeses to shrimp mixture and stir well. Place into a casserole dish, top with remaining cheese and bake for 20 minutes. Serve with baguette slices.
