Whiskey-Glazed Blue Cheese Burgers

Ingredients
- Whiskey Glaze
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- Burgers
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 3/4 tsp. dried minced onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 4 Tbsp. crumbled blue cheese
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 pretzel buns, toasted
- Lettuce and onions for serving
Instructions
- Whiskey Glaze
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, add whiskey and bring to boil. Whisk in ketchup, soy sauce, honey, mustard, Worcestershire, garlic powder and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 to 7 minutes, until thickened. Set aside.
- Burgers
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, salt and pepper. Separate into four portions. Flatten each, add 1 tablespoon blue cheese to center and mold meat around the cheese to form patties.
- Heat grill to medium heat. Add burgers and cook about 6 minutes per side. During the last minute, brush burgers with whiskey glaze and top with a slice of Cheddar. Serve on buns, topped with lettuce and onions.
