Hamburgers and Gravy
A true comfort meal that’s not only easy to make, but affordable. Hearty and filling burgers are complemented with a delicious gravy that’s perfect on a cool fall day. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete meal.
Start with 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef, 1 egg, 1 chopped onion, a fourth of a cup of seasoned bread crumbs, a fourth of a teaspoon of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, half of a package of dry onion soup, one 10.75 ounce can of cream of mushroom soup, half of a can of water or broth, 2 ribs of celery cut into 1/2 inch pieces and one 8 ounce package of sliced mushrooms.
Mix together ground beef, egg, onion, bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Shape into 5-6 hamburgers about 1-inch thick. In a large pan, brown burgers on both sides. Mix in onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, water or broth, celery and celery. Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes, until meat is cooked through and vegetables are softened. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
