“Everything but the Kitchen Sink” Holiday Cookies

We’re starting off baking season right with a super loaded cookie recipe! Using holiday M&M’s, these cookies are sure to be festive and sweet, but also salty with some added pretzels. Plus, we’re using a different ingredient that’ll give this cookie a unique flavor and texture: Coconut! Make them large to use on your plate for Santa, or make them small to give out as gifts in your cookie tins this year. This cookie is sure to be a fan-favorite.

You’ll need quite a few ingredients for this one: 1 cup of softened butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 2½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 cups of mini pretzel sticks broken into pieces, 1½ cups of sweetened shredded coconut and 1½ cups holiday M&M’s.

Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Slowly add in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using a spatula, stir in pretzels, coconut and M&M’s.

To make large cookies, shape ¼ cupfuls of dough into balls, then place 3 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire rack to cool.

To make small cookies, shape 1 tablespoons of dough into balls, then place 3 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire rack to cool.
